New regulations on the use of numbers

Discover the major changes brought about by Arcep’s decision no. 2022-1583 for the French telecommunications market.

The new numbering plan includes dedicated, mandatory numbers for telemarketing activities. For automated outbound campaigns, call centers must now present a Verified Multipurpose Number (VMPN). Make sure you comply with these new requirements for successful telephone prospecting in line with current regulations.

Numbers for automated call systems

For automated calls, i.e. calls dialed by predictive dialing systems, or progressive dialing calls with answering machine detection in the media stream, or calls delivering a pre-recorded message, a new category of numbers is created: verified multipurpose numbers (NPV).

These numbers have the following roots: 0162, 0163, 0270, 0271, 0377, 0378, 0424, 0425, 0568, 0569, 0948 to 0949 in mainland France, and 09475 to 09479 in overseas territories.
